For instance, an incompetent surgeon who rips off his patients would not be an FACS, a member of ASBS, etc. Ask for a copy of the surgeon´s cetification, credentials or any degree, especially if they are not in the website. There is a great advantage if the surgeon is certified by the ASBS (American Society for Bariatric Surgery).
